Meredith builds momentum for July 4 America's 250th parade

America's 250th Celebration Committee · Meeting of May 21, 2026

NH MEREDITH — Meredith's America's 250th Celebration Committee reviewed parade participation and approved merchandise sales at its May 21 meeting. The committee confirmed 17 completed registrations, 24 verbal commitments, and 8 tentative pledges for the Main Street parade July 4 at 10 a.m. To fund the event, the committee established a shirt sales model where participating organizations will each retain $12 profit per $25-retail shirt after the $13 production cost.

Committee member Chris Kelly will fund commemorative shirts for committee members, and the committee approved 40 larger-size shirts for the Fire Department and Library with town funds. Public relations efforts are advancing, with committee members Chris Kelly, Lynn Leighton, Monica Bennett, and Marilee Sundius coordinating press distribution and promotional signage.
