Committee approves $15,000 grant for UNH research

NH MEREDITH — Waukewan Watershed Advisory Committee unanimously approves $15,000 grant for UNH student intern position. The Committee, chaired by Donna Murphy, approved an application for the Department of Environmental Services Cyanobacteria Training Grant with Committee member Frank Murphy to coordinate with Freshwater Bioassay Enterprises and UNH. Water Superintendent Jason Bordeau raised concerns about large commercial tank vehicles removing water from the lake without notification and potential backflow pollution risks.

The Committee also unanimously authorized snowmobile rental for winter water quality testing through ice.
