Meredith Select Board approves commercial boat launch permit fee
Select Board · Meeting of June 22, 2026
NH MEREDITH — Meredith Select Board approves $350 commercial boat launch permit fee. The board voted unanimously to charge commercial marine operators an annual permit fee effective January 1, 2027, with all revenue directed to the Waterfront Infrastructure Fund. The decision came after a public hearing featuring debate from boat launch business owners concerned about fairness and from residents questioning enforcement.
Chief Mike Harper noted the town's current 90 percent compliance rate on boat parking violations. The board also approved purchase of three cigarette receptacles for $133 each at town docks and Hesky Park, unanimously granted six tax abatements totaling $14,661.97 for 2025, and adopted a new Road Closure and Special Event Policy.
