Select Board Accepts Waukewan Dam Storage Agreement

Select Board · Meeting of July 13, 2026

NH MEREDITH — Meredith Select Board approves storage agreement for Waukewan Dam project to proceed on schedule. The board authorized the town to house replacement penstock piping at the municipal landfill, essential because the pipes carry a 20-week manufacturing lead time and arrive in multiple shipments. Director Craig Hale confirmed landfill access routes through the highway garage gates to avoid disrupting the transfer station.

Manager Judie Milner presented the agreement drafted jointly by the town attorney and project attorney. Chairperson Steve Aiken noted that FEMA-funded requirements mandate American-made materials, making the lead time critical to the fall construction start. The board also approved prior meeting minutes, both public and non-public sessions, with minor amendments.
